The Hole in the Wall Gang, or "Buy an organ pipe, Lady?"
by Deacon Alice Hudson
A Moment for Mission delivered at the Rutgers Presbyterian Church
on September 21, 2003.

Last week Joy Wyatt told you of our need to repair and restore the organ. If we are successful in our fund raising, and the Southfield company repairs, replaces or revoices the pipes, and then puts it all back together [up there, and back there], we will be able to celebrate our 80-year-old pipe organ in style in 2005.

Please consider a pledge, if you have not already; it can be paid out over 3 years if that makes it easier to do. Think about repairing a large gold-decorated pipe or 2 or 3, or a baby pipe, or the blower, or the console or the motor, the windchests, or solid state components, the walls and ceiling of the room housing the pipes, or the cabinetry holding the pipes over my shoulder, where the hole in the wall is now.

This list of items to be worked on is long, and the repair work is complex. You can read about it in the latest issue of Renewal, our church newsletter. With all our pledges and support, our Moeller organ will once again herald the good news of God's love for each one of us.

Please join me in prayer:

Holy God, we thank you that the wind of the spirit blows through this sanctuary and surrounds us, refreshes and renews us. Be with us as we work to glorify your name through our music and song in this holy place. Amen.
